What is the BEST Martial Arts for my child?

We often get asked this question a lot. Is Taekwondo better than Karate? Is Judo better than Jiu Jitsu? Is Muay Thai better than Boxing?

Instead of choosing which STYLE of Martial Arts is best for your child, consider choosing the SCHOOL that is best for your child. At the end of the day you want a school that will:

Nurture their Confidence:

We all want our children to grow up being comfortable and confident in their skin. We want them to be able to speak for themselves, make the right decisions, and not be a target of negative behaviours. In our programs we aim to nurture confidence through skill development, positive behaviour, and constant feedback. Our instructors are constantly looking to help your child improve their Martial Arts skill – in doing so your child feels positive about their ability, they begin to stand taller, and they begin to see the talents they have.

Improve their Fitness and Discipline:

Technological advancements are great. But they’re serving as a distraction not only to adults, but to kids. The constant need to be stimulated in the forms of games is keeping children on the couch for long stretches of time. Our Martial Art programs promote physical movement. Aside from learning to block, kick and punch, your child will improve their flexibility, physical fitness, and muscular endurance. The time they spend training with us also serves as a great distraction to electronic stimulation. Promoting a healthy lifestyle benefits your child with better sleep, improved concentration at school, and sets up a routine of fitness and movement for their future.

Teach them Martial Arts and Values:

Your child will learn how to block, kick and punch, but there is so much more to Martial Arts than those three things. Our programs have values instilled, we teach your child about being respectful, being disciplined, listening, working with others – and the big one – not hitting others. All of our instructors share the same ethos as they have all grown up as students in our programs under the eye of Grandmaster Joe and Master Chris.

Welcome them as part of the Family:

We understand and accept the responsibility of giving all of our students a second home, a safe place. We are a family run business and we aim to welcome others as part of our extended family. We take pride in our service to the students, and to the family. In doing so, this is also expected of all of our students and instructors, our community becomes a family.

Surround them with Positive Role Models:

Kids can grow up idolising the wrong people (how many of them want to be YouTube stars now?). Our instructors are great role models, not only are they talented martial artists, some have served as School Captains, School Vice Captains, Prefects and Sport Captains. Our instructors have grown up in the JAI family since kids, they understand the importance of being an instructor. They understand that they are mentoring future Black Belts, and future JAI instructors.

Martial Arts is a gift – whether it’s for children or adults. Don’t overthink the Martial Arts program, choose the school that is right for them and right for your family.
