THE VALUE OF MARTIAL ARTS – 2

Today we continue the discussion about Martial Arts Life Skills, and their importance to – the individual, the family, and the community.

Number 2: DISCIPLINE

Having DISCIPLINE can have many definitions. It can be explained simply with the definition of “listening to instruction”, to being something more specific to “having just one cookie from the cookie jar”. Regardless of where your definition lies, having discipline and being disciplined is very important. Not only does it guide your current actions, but it shapes your future habits.

🥋Martial Arts can help strengthen your discipline.
✅Programs teach you to be patient (practice and perfect your movements).
✅To learn you are required to listen. Students need to be quiet as they watch and listen to instruction.
✅Having discipline means doing the right thing, even when you don’t feel like doing it. That could mean attending your regular training class or sparring class on the allocated day, instead of staying home playing video games. Even though you’d rather be home relaxing, you know that developing your skills is an important step towards achieving your Black Belt.
