17th Korean Taekwondo Association of Australia Tournament
After a few years of COVID closures and restrictions, competitions are slowly returning. On Sunday 16th October, @jaimartialarts sent a team of 70 students to compete at the 17th KTAA Tournament. For many, this was their first EVER competition, and for a small group, this was the first competition since 2019.
Our students competed in a number of different events, they included:
  • Sparring and Team Sparring
  • Point Sparring
  • Power Sparring which included sweeps and takedowns
  • Individual and Team Poomsae
  • Weapons and Creative Poomsae
  • Speed Kicking Competitions
  • Jumping Kick Competitions
With the amount of competitors and events, it was a long day for our students with many arriving before 9am and some leaving after 6pm. Despite the long wait for some, the team spirit and sportsmanship was on full display by all competitors. The JAI community came together to cheer on one another. Parents and families also had the opportunity to watch their kids compete and perform.
A big thank you to the JAI Community who came along to support. An even BIGGER thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who helped on the day with preparing fighters, coaching, refereeing, score keeping, and the list goes on. Without your effort and support, there would be no competition.
